Daniel H. Wiltfang, 87, of Iowa City, IA died Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Iowa City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Per his wishes Daniel was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa.
Survivors include his son, Daniel A. Wiltfang of Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas and two grandsons, Jason Wiltfang of Iowa City and Daniel M. Wiltfang of Jacksonville, FL.
His parents and wife preceded him in death.
Daniel Henry Wiltfang was born March 4, 1920 in New York, NY the son of Wiard and Adeleine (Schneider) Wiltfang. Daniel married Catherine Gallet on January 4th, 1947 in Paris, France. Catherine preceded Daniel in death on December 18, 1988.
Daniel served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Daniel worked for the University of Iowa for 38 years in the department of Thoracic Surgery as a Research Associate and as a Perfusionist.
He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed.
